Temperatures have finally started to descend here in Houston. Although I’ve already made my Shoe Carnival run for some fall booties, it’s still not cold enough to put my summer clothes away. As much as I’d love to be wrapped around in a blanket scarf or snuggled up in a wool coat, I can’t wear anything more than a light summer dress & maybe get away with a super light jacket in the evenings.
Transitioning to fall can be quite daunting when you’re low on budget, but it doesn’t have to be so difficult. I find it easy to layer my summer dresses over jeans and making it fall appropriate with a pair of booties. Or if you don’t feel comfortable with the jeans & dress trend, opt for a chunky cardi over your dress and finish it off with the booties.
These Boots Are A Great Transitional Piece
If budget is an issue, invest in one great pair that can make transitioning into fall easier. The nude suede Coconuts El Torone I picked up at Shoe Carnival is perfect. The quality is great which means they’ll take you from fall to spring. Plus with such great price points you might even have enough for two pairs;)
The great thing about transitional pieces is that you can wear them year round. And you get your money’s worth in wears. I’d recommend investing in a nude pair of boots or booties. Pick a style that will work well for both jeans and dresses. Try to stay away from something too dressy or too casual. A simple nude suede boot its the perfect middle ground. We all know, nude is a neutral and goes with everything. Plus the simple style will look great with all of your jeans, dresses and skirts.
