Happy 4th Everyone! I hope that as I’m writing this, you guys are having the best time with family and friends celebrating our countries 240th! We had to postpone our weekend getaway to Austin because I have so many deadlines to meet this week for Daily Craving, but will nevertheless make this 4th one to remember, for ourselves and for the boys.
I am SO glad to finally be posting a new look on here for you guys. It has seriously felt like FOREVER since my last post so I wanted to share a little bit of the reason why I’ve been MIA. If you didn’t know, Erick has been back in school for the past two years. Yep, and this year he decided to take summer courses in hopes of graduating in spring of 2017. -SO proud of my boo!- Most of you also know that he takes all of my blog photos. So with a full time job, evening classes, homework, studying & all of his daddy duties around the house, it has literally been impossible for him & I to shoot anything at all. We tried to make it work but it just wasn’t happening. He was tired from work and school and me from being alone with the kids 24/7.
Finally we decided that I would hire a photographer for the remainder of the summer, and the only thing I’m over here wondering is why didn’t I do it sooner. Despite the lack of posts though, I have been working hard behind the scenes and have lots of exciting things coming up. So needless to say, I’d love it if you stuck around;)
Ok now let’s talk fashion! I love transitional separates like no other (you guys know that) and these two right here are the perfect example of the mentioned above. If you’re a minimalist and prefer a neutral palette, these muted green culottes are the perfect summer piece for you. You can pair them with another neutral color on top like I did here, or with something brighter. Orange, pink or red would be perfect. Once fall rolls around colors like brown, burt orange, navy and even black, will make an equally fab pairing.
The sweater top is my favorite, it’s such a timeless chic piece. Don’t let the turtleneck intimidate you. BUT, if you live in places were the temperature hits triple digits during the summer, you obviously don’t want to wear it for a walk in the park. Wear it to the office, a brunch date or even a trip to the mall. And once fall and winter roll around, layer it over a button up or under your favorite jacket/coat.
