Although many brands are starting to roll out the first capsules of their Fall 17 collections (I am TOO excited for Fall) we still have a bit of summer left and I still have quite a few things to cross out my Summer Bucket List. This is actually the first summer I have said list, mostly because my kids are now finally in that age where they can really appreciate a great time with the family and actual look forward to it. As opposed to pious years when they could really care less. So I came up with my fist summer bucket list for families and I hope you find some sort of inspiration in it and try some of these ideas with your own fam! I must warn you though, I’m not the most exciting person so a lot of these are very low key.
Summer Bucket List
• Have a picnic in the country/hillside – I’m talking full-on picnic here. Blanket, basket, sandwiches (vegan of course) fruit, pastries, & our favorite mint or raspberry mint lemonade. I love the Lavender Fields in Brenham, Texas. It overlooks the hillside and it’s usually so much cooler than the city. Perfect setting if you ask me. I’m already planning it for early August.
• Have an end of summer pool party for the boys and all of their cousins– I love nothing more that get togethers with my siblings, nieces and nephews. Plus all of our kids LOVE swimming. It had to be, my siblings and I are literally part fish aka we loooove swimming!
• Visit a neighbor city or town we’ve never been to– With no specific plan in mind and with our camera in hand – I think I’ve said that on here before, I am very spontaneous. I love just getting up and going somewhere out of the blue even if it gives Erick anxiety haha! Another thing I love is photography and taking photos of new places. A lot of you didn’t know I went to school for photography hu?
• Finish My Wall Gallery– I know I know, this might not sound fun to everyone but it really is for me. We’ve been in our new place for a couple of months now and I have been having so much fun decorating. This isn’t our permanent home and I’m not too sure how long we’ll be here but I really want to get my wall gallery done before fall rolls in. I’d like the place to be ready for the holidays. And yes the scan totally be a family thing. I plan on having the boys help choose which photos will go on the frames.
Do you have a bucket list waiting to be checked off? Don’t wait on it, do it now! Live today, be present and enjoy your family for these days will never come again. And if you don’t have at all its ok, take inspiration from these and go have some fun!
Ok so literally every single item I’m wearing here I love. The peplum tee by Nell + Rose is not only adorably cute, but it’s also incredibly soft. Seriously the fabric is insane and drapes so great over the body. It has a hi-low hem which I love. Cropped flare jeans are an old favorite (also love these) and slides are one of my favorite Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases. They are only $50 so I got them in two colors.
Now let’s talk about this bag! Henri Bendel is notorious for fab bags, they are always so chic and versatile. I appreciate the versatility of this one so much. It’s the perfect sized tote, can fit all of a woman essentials + more AND it can also be converted into a backpack by attaching a strap. This my friends, is great for a) a mom with smaller kids who needs to pack a few extra things and needs both hands & b) for moms who go shopping without their kids and need both hands to haul all of their picks to the dressing room 😉 I mean I’m just being honest haha!
