We are literally one week away from meeting our little Millie girl. The emotions running through me are unexplainable and I cannot wait to hold my daughter in my arms and love on her so hard.
Another thing I can’t wait for is to see her in her crib and all the other baby spaces we’ve created for her. I am in love with the way our neutral baby girl nursery came together. Exactly what I envisioned, nothing more and nothing less.
When I started her nursery I knew I wanted a space that was functional, clean & airy and neutral. Millie’s nursery space is inside our master bedroom, so I went with a color palette that would tie in with our already white and grey room decor.
We started with this beautiful wallpaper design from Livettes Wallpaper. It is such a pretty grey and white animal print like design. Girly without having to be pink, totally my vibe! Makes the space look open and airy. It was super easy to install. Self-adhesive and worked on our popcorn textured walls without any problem. Erick installed in less that 45 minutes and we haven’t had any problems with it peeling off or bubbling up. Plus it peels off seamlessly without damaging the wall for when we are ready to mover her out of our room into her own space.
I wanted the main focus of her space to be something meaningful. Never mind a cute bunny, farm animal or wooden laser cut name. I wanted something chic and with heart behind it. This Jenessa Wait poster spoke to me the moment I saw it. Literally brought tears to my eyes. It is a true testimony of the gift our Millie girl is to us.
For a little pop of color I ordered a few fashion themed books for her acrylic floating shelves. Guys, these shelves are so good and only $12 a pop! They are so much better than the small and more expensive Amazon versions I’ve been seeing. Plus they are a bit wider which means it can hold up more than just one layer of books at a time.
Went with a white very minimal style crib and grey glider. Black base floor lamp to match the Jenessa poster and curtain rods. Black framed quotes from Desenio. And a grey and off white rug from Amazon to complete the space.
Never in a million years did I think I’d get to design MY DAUGHTER”S nursery. Sure I had many many dreams and fantasies about it but never did I think it would happen for us. And here we are, ten years after having what we thought was our last baby, getting ready to welcome our beloved daughter into our family and this beautiful space. God is SO Good y’all. He WILL give you the desires of your heart when HE sees fit. Don’t give up!
