Many years ago, maybe when I was 12 or 13 I used to sew my own cute little crop halter tops. Yep, I was so into cutting and sewing my own clothes and my mom would always be so nice and buy me fabric by the yard at Hobby Lobby. Those are for sure some beautiful memories that I will always treasure. I may not be putting my fashion DIY skills to work these days between I do it’s amazing if I do say so myself.
I love denim, that’s no secret, I love all the different trends that come with denim as well. The uneven raw hem is possibly one of my favorites. My mom thinks is pretty odd and even ridiculous, haha! I had these great True Religion jeans in my closet for the longest but rarely wore them because the ankle part was too wide for my tiny ankles and a few inches too long to even make a cute fold. So I grabbed scissors and went to town. Scroll down to see the step by step DIY.
Here’s what I did:
• Laid my jeans flat on the floor
• Laid a second pair of already raw hemmed jeans for guide
• Marked where the new hem would go with a white marking pencil
• Cut, cut, cut.
There’s no special trick or way to cut. Yo want the hem to be raw and distressed so precision isn’t really necessary. I love the way it turned out and I seriously cannot stop wearing them. I know you’ve seen me wearing them on stories wayyy too much lol. Like I said this is possibly my best fashion DIY ever.
Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend and let me know if you try my super easy DIY!~
