In a Holiday Dream: Margot Skirt
I hope that you guys all had the most wonderful Thanksgiving Day with your loved ones. And as we approach the most wonderful time of the year, I hope that you take a moment to remember what truly matters. Remember to slow down a bit and appreciate these moments with those you love the most. But most importantly be that little bit of hope for those who need it. Get involved with your local food bank, children’s hospital, or woman’s shelter, and bring a little bit of that holiday dream to those in need.
I had a friend lose her newly purchased house and all her belongings along with it, including cars, to a fire last week. It happened only a few days before Thanksgiving and it truly broke my heart;( This made me take a step back and REALLY appreciate everything I have. And got me thinking, how fortunate am I that I get to tuck my kids in at night each in their own bed, that I have a roof over my head, and a table full of food not only on Thanksgiving, but every single day. Lucky? I don’t know, but blessed? 100%. Often times we get caught up with wanting more than our neighbor, this holiday season though, instead of asking for more, my boys & I will make sure we share a little bit of what we already have with those who need it most.
We shot our holiday pictures a couple of weekends ago, and this skirt had me feeling like I was in a holiday dream.
The last time we took family pictures was 4 years ago for Mason’s first Christmas & our first Christmas as a family of four. So finally being able to do it again this year had me feeling overjoyed! I love how excited the boys were about us going to the tree farm, they literally ran wild between the trees, gave us a few minutes for pictures, and continued on. But what I loved most was their reaction when they saw me walking out the bedroom all dressed up and ready. They love when mom wears long dresses or skirts, and this time was no exception. They were saying things like “mommy you look so beautiful” “you’re just like a princess” and I even got a “may I have this dance” from Mason♥
These past four years have been nothing less than perfect for us. And when I say perfect I mean we’ve had a roof over our head, food on our table, our children are healthy and whole, we have each other, and SO much love to give.
