I’ve always been a hat girl and have been all over this newsboy hat trend for the last few weeks. I saw them start to pop up here and there a couple of months ago and just couldn’t wait to get my hands on one. I’ve already got three super cute ones sitting in my closet and I have a feeling I will be adding a few more as fall approaches. I stepped out wearing my Henri Bendel one this weekend and people were so into it. I had tons of strangers ask where my hat was from, but the one thing I kept hearing most was “I could never pull it off though” I think a lot of people feel that way about hats in general but I do believe ANYONE can pull it off. A hat is such a statement accessories and can easily wear you if you don’t wear it with confidence. Here’s a few tips to remember when wearing a hat, specifically when you wear a newsboy hat.
ONE – Chose wisely! Remember there’s a color, size and fit for everyone. One can get pretty excited about a new trend and start impulse buying. My advice is, try the hat on before buying it. Make sure the style & color suits your personal style and that it fits your head comfortably. There’s nothing worse than a frumpy hat that falls off your head every time you take a step.
TWO – Keep your outfit simple. My personal rule when wearing a hat is to keep it minimal with any other accessories, otherwise the look can become too busy real quick and take away from the hat.
THREE – Let your hair down. If you’re afraid a newsboy hat is already to masculine, wearing it with your hair tied up won’t help. Let your hair loose, if you have straight hair add some subtle waves for more body and if you have curly hair just let it do its thing.
As far as what to wear it with in regards of your clothing, wear it with EVERYTHING! Seriously, a newsboy hat is as versatile as a baseball cap and can be worn with skirts & heels or jeans & sneakers. We stopped by Discovery Green over the weekend to check out The Color Condition, a new art installation on Avenida Houston. It’s pretty spectacular and somewhat reminiscent of Mexico streets during a fiesta celebration. The boys and I loved all the color and the subtle rustling sound it made when the wind blew. Erick was just there for snapping as many pictures as possible and sharpening up his photography skills;)
My forever friend, business partner, photographer and love of my life♥
I am seriously obsessed with the details on this backpack!! Henri Bendel kills it every single time.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a great week and if you’re in the U.S, enjoy the Great American Eclipse!!
