I don’t know about y’all but It feels to me like life gets busier and busier as the days go by. It is so easy to lose track of time, and with that, lose precious quality time with our family. Erick & I have made it a point to have a date (or family date) at least once a week. It is so important for us to have that bonding time with the boys and each other, and forget about life’s demands for at least a few hours.
Yesterday we decided to skip dinner at home and surprised the kids with a family night at Market Street The Woodlands for live music, pizza & lot’s of dancing! Market Street is about a 45 minute drive for us, and to the boys any long drive means “road trip” so they were pretty psyched about it!
We dined at Jasper’s and had the most yummy potato salad ever, slow cooked smoked ribs & grilled cheese pepperoni pizza. And you know what the best part was? That I didn’t have to cook any of it (haha)! This was our first time at Jasper’s and we absolutely loved it. Not only was the staff wonderful, but the manager himself came out to greet us on the patio and made sure we were well taken care of. He was the sweetest man;)
Music was performed by The Slags, the official band of the Houston Texans. These guys seriously rocked the house (or should I say the park) to songs by Bruno Mars & Katy Perry amongst others. My favorite part though was Mason putting on a show for everyone with his rad dance moves 😉 This kid is such a performer. Evan on the other hand, is so chill (just like daddy) he just sits there and feels the music, tapping his foot on the ground and ever so slightly bobbing his head to the beat. It’s fun to see how different the boys’ personalities are.
Nights like these are definitely my favorite. Good food, good laughs, lots of kisses & hugs♥ Thank you so much to Market Street The Woodlands, TX for having us. If you’re ever in Houston or the surrounding area, or even if you live here in Houston but never been, be sure to stop by Market Street for great food, free live music every Thursday for their Spring Concert series ,shopping and a wonderful feel of community.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend and make sure you get out there and do something that makes your heart smile. Family night sounds like a great idea doesn’t it? 😉
