Dressing for fall in Texas gets pretty tricky. The weather is always all over the place. Some days will be cool and others so hot you could swear it’s summer. Sweater weather isn’t really guaranteed for us Texas girls. The only thing that’s always for certain around here is the heat in the summer. And that is no fun when you’re trying to dress the part for fall.
Trust me, I totally get it. You want to wear the over-the-knee boots, the wool coat and the cozy scarfs. I do too, but I’ll be honest with you, I’d rather pass on all of those and be comfortable (aka not suffocating in my cute coat)! Let’s just wait till winter for that why don’t we, yeah? So if you’re like me and you value comfort over fall dressing cliches, here’s a few things to keep in mind when dressing for fall in Texas.
Consider where you’re going that day and dress the part. If I know I’ll be out with the boys say at the park or strolling through downtown, I make sure I wear layers. A long sleeve top, jeans and comfy sneakers and a jacket for later in the evening when it cools down. If I’m out on a day date with Erick I’ll throw on a cute skirt, booties and a cozy sweater.
Like I mentioned above you can pair a cozy sweater with a skirt instead of jeans. Swap over-the-knee boots for booties. And even a scarf for a cute beanie.
Hope this helps you a bit when putting your fall outfits together. And by all means go ahead and buy that cute wool coat you saw at Zara! I’m sure winter will bring at least a couple really cold days for us Maybe.;)
Thank you for stopping by!
