My Experience With Clip-In Hair Extensions

I seriously can’t remember the last time I had long hair that passed my shoulders. It must’ve been sometime circa 1995-96. I think for the most part my hair grows at a pretty decent rate, the thing is that with all the heat I put on it almost daily, a trim every 3 or so months is very necessary. Leaving me with short hair year round.

In a perfect world I’d have perfect, manageable, humidity-resistant hair that wouldn’t need constant heat, therefore more time between trims to allow growth, but since I don’t I had to do the next best thing…extensions!

My experience with clip-in hair extensions

Hair extensions were so taboo just a few years ago but now they are literally as normal as say, getting your nails done. Because they are so mainstream, there are several options available to fit any budget and lifestyle. Clip-in hair extensions (or gateway extensions) are the most widely used and I now know why.

I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had changing up my look when ever I please and then being able to remove these babies at the end of the day. Clip-ins are seriously the easiest kind of extensions there is, and perfect for those of us who aren’t quite ready to commit to something more permanent. Plus they are very affordable and worth every penny since they can be used for months, or years even, depending on how you care for them.

My experience with clip-in hair extensions

I got mine at Brush & Bobby, a Houston salon located in The Heights and owned by the ever so sweet, Mariko Peterson, who I met in 2015 at the Tidbits It Girls Of Instagram event I was part of.

Mariko is a 5 year extension pro and was recently in LA training with celebrity stylist Jen Atkin. Love a girl who’s always striving to be better. Never stop learning ladies! From the time I arrived at my appointment to the very last curl, I was there for no more than one hour! The process was a lot faster than I thought it would be. Plus I loved that Mariko took her time to answer all my questions and explained everything she was doing as she went. Always making sure I was comfortable and that I was satisfied with the final result. Houston clip-in hair extensions

If you’re in the Houston are and are considering getting extensions, I highly recommend Mariko! You can find her on Instagram under @mariko80 and tell her Lilly from Daily Craving sent you;)
