Pregnancy style is definitely not what it was 10 years ago. Back then there wasn’t really an emphasis on dressing the bump. Today, I dare to say, the idea of dressing the bump is one of the most exciting parts of pregnancy. It’s such a mood booster to dress up the growing belly and feel beautiful and confident during such a difficult time for us women.
Where can I find affordable pregnancy styles
Trust me, I know that spending $$ on clothes during pregnancy doesn’t seem like the most practical or financially feasible thing to do. First thing that comes to mind is “why spend on clothes that I’m only going to wear for a few months and won’t fit after pregnancy”. But, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. Finding and purchasing affordable pregnancy styles isn’t as difficult as we once thought.
I’ve got a few tips that might help you stay on trend and stylish during pregnancy without breaking the bank.
Maternity clothes tends to be pretty pricey. Instead, opt for non-maternity pieces in a size or two bigger than your pre-pregnancy size. There is so much non-maternity pieces that can be bump friendly. Plus you’ll be able to wear them for a good while postpartum too.
Anything brand name is going to be on the pricier side, so if staying on budget is your main concern, go for affordable options. Target has a great selection of on-trend non-maternity options. Most priced under $40. This is where I’ve been shopping for my affordable pregnancy style 😉
Choose Versatile Pieces
This is probably the most important tip of all. Choose pieces that you can wear and layer multiple ways. Think a good dress (like the one I’m wearing) that you can dress up or down. A jacket you can throw on over that dress or with jeans and a tee. Or a graphic tee for layering over that dress to make it look like a skirt. Anything that can be worn multiple ways will get you the most bang for your buck.
You don’t need a huge budget to look like a million bucks mama. This entire outfit cost me a total of $70. It’s all non-maternity. I sized up one size on the dress and went for my regular size jacket. I know I will get lots of wear of both pieces for the remainder of this pregnancy and beyond.
Hope this post helped and that you feel inspired you to go ahead and shop for yourself and your growing bump without feeling guilty. Affordable pregnancy style can be achieved and you deserve to look & feel your best now more than ever;)
