7 Essential Oils & Blends I swear By

I honestly don’t know why it took me so long to get on the essential oils train. I was a bit skeptic the first time I heard about it but after incorporating them into our daily lives for the past year and a half, I am 100% sold.

Thieves & R.C.

I use this magical combination to nurse, colds, coughs & sore throats and everything else that comes with that. Thieves is a combo of eucalyptus, rosemary, lemon, clove and cinnamon. With Eucalyptus being the more overpowering essence. I diffuse 3 drops of this with 3 drops of R.C. which contains spruce cypress and 3 kinds of eucalyptus oils. This helps my kids sleep thought the night by clearing their airways, a stuffy nose and stopping stubborn coughs.

I’ve been doing this every time the boys catch a nasty cold and even used it when Evan had the flu late last year. It helped relieve his muscle pain as well. I could never not have this blend in my house. It’s a lifesaver for sick children and moms as well. Because if the sick child sleeps well, so does the mama;)

Peppermint

Evan has Myopia and often suffers from severe migraines because of it. As soon as he feels a headache coming he asks for peppermint in his diffuser. I diffuse 3 drops for about 30-45 while he lays down.

Aside from diffusing, I also rub a bit of the peppermint oil on his temples and forehead. *Be sure to always mix your oils with carrier oils before applying to the skin. We use coconut oil as our carrier. Peppermint has menthol which has been proven to reduce headaches when applied to the temples and forehead.

Lavender

I mostly use lavender as a synthetic-free fragrance for the bedroom. But I have found that it helps a ton when I’ve had a rough day and need a good night sleep. I diffuse 4 drops through the night after a nice hot shower. No joke, I sleep like a baby and wake up feeling so rested. I also love to diffuse it during my quiet time. Makes my mind feel so calm which helps me fully focus on my reading.

Purification & Lemon

Ok, this is probably my favorite blend of all! I diffuse it around the house after all the cleaning is done. It gives our home such a clean crisp fresh scent. Cancels out all other bad scents. Especially great to diffuse after you’ve cooked up a big meal that has left lingering smells.

Stress Away

Vanilla, lime, lavender and copiaba are what make up this blend. As many of you know I have dealt with anxiety and panic attacks for the most part of my life. I keep this one in my bag and take it wherever I go. I take a few whiffs straight from the bottle when I’m feeling extra anxious or feel a panic attack coming. It doesn’t necessarily make it all go away but it does help relax the mind.
