My search for safer beauty continues. While searching under the “clean beauty” hashtag on Instagram, I came across Lily Lolo Cosmetics and was immediately intrigued to know more about this all-natural mineral UK based makeup Brand.
Lily Lolo is a high quality British cosmetics brand. Founded by Vikki Khan (who btw started mixing her own creations at home #girlboss) and named after her two sisters Lisa (Lily) & Lorraine (Lolo). Lily Lolo is free of any parabens, synthetic perfumes or dyes which is what first drew me to them. The now 10 year old brand supplies hundreds of salons in the UK as well as a growing band of loyal followers online.
Okay, before I get to talking about the actual product, can we take a minute to admire the packaging? I love it! So minimal, elegant & chic. So me right? 😉
I have been using the mineral powder foundation, concealer & blush for about two weeks now and have definitely learned to love them. In all honesty, I didn’t really love the foundation the first couple of times I tried it. Maybe it was because I had never used powdered foundation before and wasn’t quite sure how to use it, or maybe it was my super dry skin that didn’t quite help the powdered formula. I felt like the coverage just wasn’t enough and it would wear off within a few hours. But…once I realized that my dry skin might be the problem, I decided to use a hydrating primer underneath the foundation and ladies I LOVED the foundation then. It gives my face such an airbrushed natural look & feel.
The blush is so finally milled and goes on like silk, giving you that same flawless look. The only problem is that it isn’t too pigmented so you have to really build it up to your liking.
Now the concealer. You guys I don’t have too much experience with concealers as it is, so I’m still not quite sure how I feel about this one. I feel like it doesn’t really cover up any of my imperfections. Too sheer maybe? Don’t know, I will have to play with this one a little more.
Okay my favorite one! The eyebrow duo (ahhh) I LOVE this stuff! One part powder one part wax, these two together with the angled brow-spoolie brush will be your brows’ best friend. The powder is pretty easy to work with, with only a little bit of fall out. But once you set it with the jojoba seed oil based wax, you are good to go girlfriend!
