As many of you know, I homeschooled Mason last school year for Kindergarten. It wasn’t easy but we made it through the year. Mason is such a quick learner and excelled above and beyond his grade level. Plus I love all the extra time we got to spend together. Our relationship strengthened so much and I learned a lot about him, his learning style etc.
Earlier this summer Mason mentioned he wanted to try public school, like his brother. I will be completely honest and say that I froze. So much of me wanted to say “NO”. But Erick & I both agree that it is very important to let him experience public school and see how he does. I’m honestly not looking forward to it but I know Mase will do great. He’s such a light and does well wherever he goes.
On the other hand I’m super excited for Evan starting 5th grade. This is his last elementary year you guys! It’s crazy to even vocalize it. Feels like he was born just yesterday! He’s so excited to go back to school and finally be the bigger kid on campus. Cause y’all know, “everyone” looks up to the fifth graders 😉
They have both been super excited to go back to school shopping. We always do it a little earlier because well, we are just a tad bit impatient haha. This year Evan asked for nothing but athletic clothes and shoes so of course Mason did too. We stopped by Kohl’s and stocked up on the coolest athletic gear they could find. We had a hard time convincing Mason to choose different styles from what Evan was choosing. He loves being like his big brother but Evan just won’t have it haha. Luckily Kohl’s has such a great variety of clothing & shoes and we were able to find things Mason loved. Back to school shopping for two is definitely not the same as shopping for one. This mama here truly appreciates the price points at Kohl’s.
Of course, no shopping trip is complete without me browsing through the women’s department. I fell in love with this adorable denim midi dress. I am in love with the tiered ruffle hem. This dress is perfect for throwing on to run everyday errands while the boys are at school. My exact one has sold out but I linked a similar one from the same brand;)
