Platform Sandals & Summer Whites

It’s Monday again, yay!  Time to put in the work and make the best of it cause let’s be real, complaining about the “Monday blues” ain’t gonna make it magically go away.So grab your cup of coffee or tea, or whatever it is you need, and let’s cheers to a great work week!

Wearing yet another white on white look today. I just can’t get enough of this combo + it helps with staying just a tad bit cooler in this Houston Heat. This fresh clean look is my favorite and I honestly don’t think I will retire any of my whites after labor day.

Another thing I can’t get enough of these days are my platform sandals from Restricted Shoes. I have been living in these babies for the past week and love them more each time. They are surprisingly light and easy to walk in. And when I say “walk in” I mean long walks like in the mall, grocery store or even out on the town (like I did this weekend). I’m sure my other shoes are feeling a bit neglected but hey, what’s a girl to do when she finds style, comfort & versatility in one pair of shoes? 😉

Get 25% off a pair for yourself (regular priced items only) with code DAILYCRAVING25 now till July 31st! If you’re interested in the pair I’m wearing it’s the “FIESTA” also comes in white & nude and runs pretty true to size. white on white summer look | Platform Sandals | White Denim | Minimal Chic All White Summer Look | Platform Sandals | Minimal ChicBlack Platform Sandals | White Denim Restricted Shoes Platform Sandals Simple Platform Sandals | Black Platform Sandals | White Summer Look | Minimal Chic Platform sandals & Summer whites | Round Sunglasses Platform Sandals & Summer Whites | White Denim | White on White Platform Sandals | White Summer Look | Minimal Chic | Messy Waves White on White Look | Platform Sandals | Summer Whites | White Denim | Minimal ChicTop (similar) | Jeans | Crossbody c/o (now on sale) | Restricted Shoes “Fiesta” Platform Sandals c/o | Sunnies (similar) | Velvet Choker c/o (similar)

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites Pt.2

Nordstrom anniversary sale

The Nordstrom Sale is officially open for everyone, regardless if you have a card or not. Open access started just yesterday and like I mentioned in my previous #NSale post, it ends August 8th. I stepped into Nordy’s yesterday to try on some stuff and found a few more favorites (mostly shoes) that I think are definite fall must-haves.

BCBGeneration Peep Toe Booties – These are just SO cute! Available in 4 colors.

Holagen® Wedge Booties – I loved these in black. They are super comfy and under $85

Sam Edelman ‘Reyes’ bootie – It den get any chic-er than these leather boots. Available in red 7 black and under $110

Topshop Suede Moto Jacket – I am totally crushing on this one! It is $200 but I think the quality justifies the already lowered price. It’s a timeless piece, therefore a great investment 😉

Relaxed U Neck Tee – OK, I don’t even know how to say this but YOU REALLY NEED THIS TEE! I’m wearing it on the picture up there↑ and let me just say this is the tee you’ve been looking for your whole life! Comes in multiple colors and its under $20! (I’m wearing a small)

Topshop Chiffon Pleated Midi Skirt – This skirt fits beautifully and really flatters the body as opposed to other pleated versions I’ve tried. Only $55!

Flat Brim Wool Hat – I’m just gonna ago ahead and add this one again because it’s THAT good. I got it in red but also comes in black, green & tan and it;s under $30.

Enjoy your weekend & happy shopping!

More Color: Printed Pants + Yellow Top

How to add more color into your wardrobeadding more color to your look with printed pants As you may have already noticed I have slowly been trying to incorporate more color into my wardrobe. A colored bandana here & a bright bag there. This time though I took not one, but two steps out of my comfort zone and paired a very bright yellow top with an already busy pair of pants.

These printed pants from Banana Republic have really grown on me. The print and silk-like feel remind me of my late aunt who was always dressed to the nines in silk pants, shirts & neckerchiefs. I swear I can almost hear her say how much she loves them!

Besides that thought, I love the fit! These are the Avery-Fit Crop, they are straight through the hip and thigh, which makes them super comfy. Kinda like the boyfriend Jeans little sister. Although the print can seem overwhelmingly busy at first sight, I find it to be very versatile. You saw me wearing them with a black tee here, which I loved, but I have also worn them off-duty with a white tee & sneakers. Who would’ve thought right? I think it’s just a matter of playing with different pieces and seeing what works for you. After all isn’t that the fun part of fashion?

These are for sure the pants to get this summer, and don’t even get me started on all the outfit possibilities for them once fall arrives!  I’m talking a nice neutral colored sweater, a black leather jacket for some added edge, or even a navy trench…uh, yes please! Oh, and if you want to get your hands on these, I would recommend you size down. I feel like they run a little big, unless you like a more relaxed fit.

Color Blocked Look + A Giant Leap Of Faith

Color Blocked Look | Boater Hat | Messy Waves | Round Sunglasses | Tiny Tattoo Ideas color blocked look

I hope you guys had a wonderful weekend! This was a very important one to us as a family. We took a huge leap of faith and did something that had been waayyy overdue. And when I say way overdue I mean over 8 years! I can’t go too much into detail just yet, but I will say that it has probably been one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever had to make.

Erick & I have been focusing a lot of our time and energy on getting closer to God. (that’s another story I’d love to share with you guys soon) And we feel incredibly grateful to have friends like E & J who are not only a huge inspiration, but have also been incredibly sweet, accepting & willing to help us thought this journey. We’ve really only met with them twice and have already learned so much from them.  It is their words that resonated with me, lit up something inside of me &  gave me the courage to finally take that leap of faith and trust that God will see me (us) through whatever this choice will bring our way.

I can’t wait to see what God will do for us and share my testimony with you all.

A summer color-blocked look | White Jeans, Orange Cami, Boater Hat & Red Tote

I am living for this fun color blocked look. Pairing two bright colors is probably something I would’ve never done. In fact, I had originally planned on a brown bag that matched my hat but accidentally grabbed this one when I stepped out of the car for this shoot. It actually turned out great and gave my look a more summery-tropical feel if you will;) What do you guys think, yay or nay?Color Blocked Look | Boater Hat | Round Sunglasses Color Blocked Look | Steve Madden Stecy Sandals | Multicolor Sandals | Gigi New York Tote How To Wear A Color Blocked Summer lookColor Blocked Look | White Skinny Jeans | Orange Cami |Boater Hat | Red ToteTop (similar)| Jeans | Bag c/o | Shoes | Hat (Similar) | Sunnies

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Favorites

Artboard 1

You guys, it’s that time of the year again! The Nordstrom Anniversary sale is here and it’s good! The cool thing about the sale is that it’s mostly new fall items that are marked down for a limited time. So if you are ready to make an investment in great fall pieces, then now’s the time.

Two things you need to know;

Early Access: It started this week (July 14) and it means that if you are a card holder then you get to shop the sale before anyone else, which pretty much means you get the best selection. If you don’t have a card, you can apply here. They have both a credit and debit option.

General Access: It starts July 22! This is when the rest of us non-card holders get to shop.

End of Sale: August 8 is when prices go back up. So like I said , if you want that fabulous pair of boots or a great leather jacket for almost half off, then now is the time to get it.

Here’s a few of my favorite must-have items. Of course you already know most of these are classic versatile pieces that will live in our closet year round.
